# About Yandex Internetometer

[Yandex Internetometer](https://yandex.by/internet) is a service that tests your internet connection and provides technical info about your device and browser.

You can use it to:

- [Test](https://yandex.by/support2/internet/en/measure.md) your internet connection speeds:

  - Download speed (receiving data from the web).
  - Upload speed (sending data to the web).

- [View](https://yandex.by/support2/internet/en/tech-info.md) more details:

  - Your IP address and related info.
  - Location (based on your IP).
  - Browser info.
  - Screen resolution.
  - Audio and video support specs.
  - Useful data for contacting support.

- Evaluate your connection quality: the service provides the result in simple terms (like "You can comfortably watch videos in 2K/4K") and assigns a five-point rating.

Yandex Internetometer gathers info from various sources. For instance, it determines your location by your IP, and your connection speed by exchanging data with [Yandex CDN](https://connect.cdn.yandex.net) servers. Yandex Internetometer can also pull some info from your Yandex ID if you're [logged in](https://yandex.com/support/id/en/auth).
