# Protect: partial content blocking

Sometimes dangerous elements from infected resources (banners, scripts, or sidebars) or [mining](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptocurrency#Mining) scripts can show up on otherwise safe sites. [The Yandex Browser beta version](https://browser.yandex.com/beta/) blocks such elements as part of its integrated security system called [Protect](https://yandex.by/support/browser-beta/en/security/protection.md). The data on unsafe resources is taken from a special database compiled by Yandex and our partners.

## Blocking dangerous elements {#blocking}

If the page you want to visit contains elements from infected sites, Yandex Browser blocks them.

If you want to load blocked content:

1. Click ![](../_image/grey-lock.png).
1. In the **Ad and tracker blocking** section, click **Settings**.
1. In the **Block ads on this site** section, toggle the slider to the **On** position.

If blocked content is a serious threat to your computer, you will not be able to load it. In this case, there will be no **Unblock for tab** link in the **Block ads on this site** section.

Because Yandex Browser only downloads secure elements, the page may be formatted incorrectly.

#### Disable blocking {#off}

{% note alert %}

If you want to disable blocking dangerous content, you will have to disable protection against malware and malicious sites in Yandex Browser completely. We strongly recommend that you don’t do this.

{% endnote %}

To disable dangerous content blocking:

1. In the upper-right corner, click **<svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" width="22" height="22" viewBox="0 0 22 22" fill="none"><title>Настройки Яндекс Браузера</title><path d="M4 16.4091C4 16.0827 4.26117 15.8182 4.58333 15.8182H17.4167C17.7388 15.8182 18 16.0827 18 16.4091C18 16.7354 17.7388 17 17.4167 17H4.58333C4.26117 17 4 16.7354 4 16.4091Z" fill="currentColor"/><path d="M4 10.5C4 10.1736 4.26117 9.90909 4.58333 9.90909H17.4167C17.7388 9.90909 18 10.1736 18 10.5C18 10.8263 17.7388 11.0909 17.4167 11.0909H4.58333C4.26117 11.0909 4 10.8263 4 10.5Z" fill="currentColor"/><path d="M4 4.59091C4 4.26456 4.26117 4 4.58333 4H17.4167C17.7388 4 18 4.26456 18 4.59091C18 4.91726 17.7388 5.18182 17.4167 5.18182H4.58333C4.26117 5.18182 4 4.91726 4 4.59091Z" fill="currentColor"/></svg>**&nbsp;→ **Settings**.

1. Go to the **Security** tab at the top of the page.
1. In the **Protection from malicious files and websites** section, uncheck the box labeled **Run security checks on websites and downloaded files**.

Use the same algorithm to enable the blocking of dangerous content.

## Blocking mining scripts {#antimining}

[Mining](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptocurrency#Mining) is often used for issuing [cryptocurrencies](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptocurrency), such as [Bitcoin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin). The computer makes calculations and its owner is awarded a certain amount of cryptocurrency.

In the case of [hidden mining](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptocurrency#Mining), the miners use the resources of other people's computers and mobile devices to make the calculations. The mining code might be hidden in JavaScript on website pages. This code can't be called malicious in the classical sense, but it actively utilizes RAM, consumes the battery, and heats the computer components.

To prevent miners from earning money using your computer's resources, Yandex Browser blocks mining scripts from sites. Scripts can be blocked even if they're yet unknown to the browser. The browser analyzes the CPU load generated by the sites and uses this data to block previously unknown mining scripts.

{% note info %}

The browser also blocks other hidden mining options, such as those that use extensions.

{% endnote %}

If you want to stop blocking mining scripts, [disable ad filters](https://yandex.by/support/browser-beta/en/security/antishock.md#off-for-all-sites) in the browser.
